Titanium Exhaust Vs Stainless Steel Exhaust, What is the difference?
Stainless Steel or Titanium, what is the difference? Well if you are shopping for an exhaust system and the only part that stands out between the two is the price tag and your not sure what is the better choice for you, then keep reading.
304 Stainless Steel is one of the most commonly used materials in exhaust systems due to its cost effective, high strength, and corrosive resistant properties. These are all great for an exhaust system, but what if you want the best overall performance? This is where Titanium excels due to its stronger and lighter than steel characteristics. Since Titanium is 40% lighter, this reduction in weight from the vehicle provides an improved power to weight ratio, resulting in better handling and acceleration. Aside of being extremely lightweight and strong, there is also a noticeable difference in sound when comparing Titanium to your standard Stainless Steel exhaust system, this is because Titanium is less dense than steel allowing it to produce a more exotic “Metallic” sound. Deciding between Titanium or Stainless steel really comes down to your performance needs and of course your budget.
