The Ultimate Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S Build
This Porsche 911 (991) Turbo S was a fun project that we worked closely together with Vivid Racing. The goal was to transform this 991 Turbo S into a monster that would out perform the competition and still be able to be driven comfortably daily. Like all Porsche’s it was lacking that true sports car sound, so the car was fitted with our extremely lightweight Titanium Exhaust System, which give this 991 Turbo a menacing growl and an additional 20awhp at 5000rpm and 40ft/lbs at 4100rpm! The Agency Power Titanium exhaust weighs in at just 8.05lbs where the stock is 24.5lbs, saving over 16.45lbs off the rear end.
Next step was to feed the twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter engine with plenty of cold air. This is where Agency Power Cold Air Intakes came into play. Each of our intakes utilize a high efficiency aFe cone air filter with front conical inlets, giving the Turbo much quicker throttle response as if you are driving in sport mode all the time. Now that we had a system that was capable of providing plenty of air our focus turned to the factory (OEM) Y-Pipe that merges early and is constrictive at only 2inch in diameter. We fixed this by replacing it with our re-designed Agency Power Y-Pipe that features an increased diameter of 2.5inch and a design that eliminates unnecessary turbulence at the throttle body. The Intakes & Y-Pipe were finished in a custom red powder coat for an added touch.
With the Agency Power Titanium Exhaust, Cold Air Intakes and Y-Pipe all together, we made certain to squeeze in a little photo shoot action before the bumper went back on. Luckily the car would be getting some special treatment thanks to Vorsteiner’s V-RT full carbon fiber front and rear bumpers.
Next we flashed the ECU via OBD II using our AP Tuned ECU Flash to safely and efficiently bring this bad boy into a new territory of power & speed! With our Stage 1 calibration, the turbos come on nearly 500rpm sooner and the throttle pedal feels more responsive. The midrange pulls harder and keeps pulling to redline. With the difference between a Turbo and Turbo S being only the mapping, the 560HP Turbo still screams nearly 80hp at 5200rpm and 100ft/lbs of torque at 3200rpm with just a tune. We don’t just focus on the peak numbers, but delivering performance throughout the entire power curve!
Crank Horsepower Ratings:
- Stock Power: 560 HP | 553 ft/lbs
- Tuned Power: 600 HP | 590 ft/lbs
- With Exhaust: 630 HP | 650 ft/lbs
The new Vorsteiner V-RT rear carbon fiber bumper looked stunning up against the Agency Power GT2 Style Angled Titanium Tips.
Final touches were made including installing a new set of 3-peice candy red Niche Wheels and H&R Lowering springs. The Porsche was then handed off to wizards over at EA Wraps in Scottsdale, Az for a complete pearl white color change! Once the car was back in our hands, we had one last thing to do and that was adding the Agency Power Carbon Fiber Side Vents.
Now that the Porsche 991 Turbo was finished with its complete makeover and performance overhaul, it was time for one last photo shoot before handing the car back over to the customer.
