Install:
- Start by purchasing your Nissan GTR R35 Dry Carbon Gear Selector Trim from Agency Power!
- Now that you just purchased parts from the best company in the business, pat yourself on the back! You did great!
- Hope in the drivers set of your GTR and cycle to the start button to KOEO (key on engine off). You can achieve this by pushing the START button twice WITHOUT applying the brake
- This will turn on all the dash lights on, but the engine will NOT be running.
- Once the vehicle has reached KOEO, place your foot on the brake to release the shift-lock and move the gear selector into Neutral (N).
- Grab your flat head screw driver and place it into the small slot at the top of the back plastic surround.
- Use lever to pry it in a downward fashion to pop off the plastic cover. (It should slide directly down the selector shaft once disconnected)
- Take the plastic cover and turn in 90-180 degrees so you will have access to the lower rear section of the shift knob. (Note: You may find it easier to spin the plastic cover by moving the gear selector to (R)everse or (D)rive during this process.)
- Once out of the way and a clear path is visible, grab your needle nose pliers and remove the small snap ring at the base of the shift knob.
- Once the snap ring is removed the shift knob will pull directly off the top, a little muscle may be needed the first time off.
- Now garb your microfiber and cleaning solution if you have it handy and clean the entire shift bezel free of any debris. Be especially keen of the area between the area of the factory gear selector bezel and silver trim. (this the area in which the carbon fiber overlay will slide into)
- Now at this point you can apply 3m double side tape to the under side of the Agency Power Dry Carbon Gear Selector trim (optional)
- Begin by placing the overlay in in the front most area closest to the dash.
- Then begin applying pressure to all areas around the edges of the bezel. Many areas you will feel it slide between the OE shift selector and silver trim.
- Reinstall in reverse order. Place the plastic trim back over the shifter shaft (90-180 degrees)
- Place shift knob back on to shaft and apply pressure in a downwards fashion to ensure it has been properly reseated. Then reinsert the small snap ring.
- Spin the bottom plastic cover back around to its starting position and re-secure it by popping the top section in. Shift back into (P)ark and then turn the vehicle off.
- Use the microfiber rag to clean off any finger print or residue you may have left behind.
- Enjoy the new simple and clean look of your Nissan GTR interior.
