How to Install Agency Power Wastegate Can-Am Maverick X3
This guide is to help with the installation of the Agency Power Wastegate on the Can-Am Maverick X3.
Note:
- For the VR Tuned 195HP package, we recommend setting the wastegate to 1 FULL turn in from neutral.
- For the VR Tuned Big Injector kit, we recommend setting the wastegate to 2 FULL turns in from neutral.
Estimated install time is 25 min
STEP 1 – Access the wastegate by removing the plastic cover located on the back center of the firewall
Step 2 – Remove the 10mm nuts holding on the stock wastegate.
Installing Wastegate
STEP 3 – Install the new Agency Power Wastegate using the supplied 11mm nuts and locking washers
STEP 4 – When installing the wastegate, you need to check the crack pressure. Stock crack pressure on the Can-Am X3 is roughly 7psi. However with this upgraded wastegate, you can set the crack pressure higher up to 14psi for better performance.
If you do not have a might vac pump like pictured, simply do 1 full turn from neutral. Neutral is right before the wastegate rod moves in or out.

So I run a treal full exhaust and a power tune stage 1 2 and 3
The stock wastegate cracks at 7 psi
Your rod from the wastegate doesn’t start to move until around 8.5 psi so I guess my question is will this be safe for my tune

If you cannot lower the pressure to a closer to stock level, we recommend checking with your tuner regarding compatibility with your specific tune. Hi Joseph,
Thank you for the inquiry. Stock crack pressure on the Can-Am X3 is roughly 7psi. With this wastegate, you can set the crack pressure higher up to 14psi for higher performance.
I ave 2017 can am x3 max xrs. Dynajet tuner with custom tune. I have full exhaust. Agency intake. Big inner cooler and fan .charge tubes blowoff valve..catch can. What should crack pressure be set at.? Ur answer just says can b set up to 14 psi. I wantto know what is safe ? And is more crack pressure only for bigger tunes? Ty
Up to 14 psi would be safe for your current setup since anything higher will require fueling mods. If you set the crack pressure higher than 14 you could overboost or potentially run lean.
Wast gate has no response to any crack pressure
