Matt Daul (@m2_ghost), 2018 BMW M2 Customer Spotlight
This week we are looking at Matt Daul and his 2018 BMW M2. This car has completely transformed in the past two years. With the initial building process only taking a matter of months, the rest of the development happened slowly as the build grew older.
Matt first started off with a completely different M2 with alternative visions. Unfortunately, his fender sliced his tire causing the car to crash. In the process of the crash the airbags malfunctioned and caused an electrical fire inside the car. Luckily Matt was able to wiggle his way out of the vehicle to safety. The moment the tow truck driver saw him and found out he was the owner of the car, the driver did not believe he was alive with a car burnt that bad and thus called him a ghost. This would be the official birth of the name “m2_ghost”.
Few months go by and the parts start flying in. The car is sporting a custom carbon fiber widebody kit with a meaty 19×12.5” wheel in the rear and a 19×10.5” up front. Matt wanted to keep this more of a driver oriented vehicle while still having the day to day comfortably. As if the first accident wasn’t enough, unfortunately the vehicle was rear ended. Fortunately for Matt we make a direct bolt on carbon fiber trunk.

After getting rear ended, Matt decided to go with our carbon trunk. This ended up helping us out a bit as well. He helped us show the BMW community that you can revamp your vehicle with factory carbon replacements while being able to spare money for other parts. One thing Matt didn’t spare though, time. This whole build was completed within a month of work. It took three months to gather all the parts to put everything together. From completely stock to fully built within a matter of months is phenomenal.
