How To Install Agency Power Cold Air Intake System On MINI Cooper
This Install Guide is intended to help with the installation of the Agency Power Cold Air Intake Kit on the 2014 – 2018 MINI Cooper 1.5L | Cooper S 2.0L.
INSTALL DIFFICULTY:
Remove engine cover by pulling up to have access to intake system.
Unbolt the air box from the support next to the headlight.
Unbolt the 2 bolts holding the factory scoop. Remove scoop by un-clipping center and lift off car. Keep bolts and scoop as they will be reinstalled on vehicle.
Loosen factory intake clamp that attached to air box. Separate the tubes when loose. Keep clamp in place will be reused with new intake tube.
With a flat head screw driver carefully unlock the harness from sensor and place harness to side for air box removal.
Gently lift air box housing out of vehicle. The two supports will release with pulling up.
Behind the air box you will see a bolt. Remove bolt to be used when installing the new intake heat shield.
Install the support post onto the new heat shield by tighten screw into printed post.
Line posts up to factory mounts and place shield in place. Shield may have movement.
Take bolt that was removed behind factory air box and tighten with shield mounting tab.
For easier install add air filter to intake tube. You do not need to tighten filter at this point.
With torx screw remove the two screws holding the sensor to factory air box. Once screws removed you can remove sensor out of factory air box.
Re-install sensor into new tube. Make sure orientation is correct and tighten with allen head bolts provided.
Carefully feed intake tube through heat shield opening. We found it is easier to rotate intake tube once in place. Insert the new intake tube into the factory tube.
Tighten down both clamps. Intake tube and filter once in position.
Re connect harness to sensor. Check clearance to make sure tube does not need to be adjust for engine cover fitment.
Re-install the scoop using the two removed factory bolts.
Check all clamps, connections and bolts. Re-Install engine cover.
Congratulations you have just installed the Agency Power MINI Cooper Cold Air Intake.
