Preparations and tips:
- Tip! Let engine cool off before you start wrench turning and fingering close to the engine
- Get out all tools needed:
o Channel locks or pliers
o Ratchet or spanner size 10mm
o Flat tip screw driver
- Light source to light up working area
- All the new parts to install
Step 1 –
Use a 10mm ratchet or spanner to loosen up the clamp that holds the hose to the valve. Carefully pull the clamp towards the front of the car. Wiggle it if you have to, or try to open the clamp a little bit more. Important! Don’t screw it all the way out. Leave the clamp on the hose for later use.
Step 2 –
Use a 10mm ratchet or spanner to loosen the clamp from the hose. Leave it in place since it will fall down by itself and align around the hole. Important! Don’t screw it all the way out.
Step 3 –
Gently take off the hose in the front by pulling it towards the front of the car. Grab a hold to the valve and gently wiggle it out of the hole by pulling it upwards. Do not use excessive force…
Step 4 –
Use a pair of pliers or channel locks to open the clamp around the hose. Gently pull it away from the valve. Leave it on the hose for later use.
Carefully use the pliers or channel locks to grab around the hose closest to the valve. Gently move the rubber hose from side to side to unfasten it from the tube. (Heat over time sometimes weld the rubber hose onto the tube) If this doesn’t work, use a small flat tip screwdriver and carefully help the hose off the tube by pulling gently in one end….
Step 5 –
Original and new part lined up.
Next step is to install the new part. Basically just do what you just did, just backwards…
Step 6 –
For basic setup: Attach the vacuum hose to brass tube. Connect valve to hose and tighten the bottom clamp. Attach hose from the front of the vehicle and tighten clamp. Adjust valve to desired opening and you’re good to go…
Step 7 –
For 50/50 setup:
Do the same thing as for basic setup, but unscrew the cap on the side of the valve (see picture)
Adjust desired opening by using the adjustment screw on top of the valve.
Step 8 –
For 100% atmosphere you can use the provided black plastic plug to block off the hole going down towards the turbo. Use the clamp to tighten it good. Now, turn valve sideways and tighten the clamp around the hose and the valve. Now you can enjoy and let it flow into free air!! Woootssshh!
