“Hot Hatch”
For some a dream is just a dream. For others its something worth chasing after and the word “hard work pays off” actually means achieving that dream. We had the wonderful opportunity to link up with a local Ford Focus ST owner and go over his dream build. Although its not complete, and lets be honest any car guy will tell cars are never complete, we did get to go over a few features and background on this one. Normally the photo coverage that go along with our features are great and showcase the vehicle very well. However the owner of this Hot Hatch collaborated with a local photographer Guy Nehrenz from Upshift Photography, and together they produced some of the highest quality photos ever featured on this site. “Photos dont do this car justice” is commonly passed around the community but the “End of the World” styled photography makes this yellow FST pop and compliments its aggressive look amazingly. You’ll have to see these for your self either way!
Questions & Answers
AP: What’s your name?
ZS:Zac Scharnow
AP: Why did you pick the platform you chose?
ZS: I really love the Hot Hatch craze. I’ve always been jealous of Europe other parts of the world where the market for fast, affordable hatchbacks has been popular for years; when I heard Ford was bringing the new ST to the USA my inner fan-boy ignited and I knew I would get this car.
AP: Here at Agency Power we offer quite a few parts for you car what is you favorite AP product?
ZS: I absolutely LOVE my AP cat-back exhaust. It makes the car sound like it behaves; a total animal. It is my favorite product made by any manufacture for this car, and my favorite modification to my car.
AP: What are your plans with the car moving forward?
ZS: I really can’t say with certainty. I didn’t get the car to be struttin’ my stuff at car shows every weekend; I got it and made some modifications to suite my needs so that every time I look at my car in a parking lot, or every time I gun it down a windy mountain road, I get the biggest, silliest smile on my face. And that is exactly what this car does for me. If ever there is something with the car that makes that smile disappear, I will probably change it to something else that brings the smile back.
AP: Biggest challenge this far with the build?
ZS: I honestly can say that I haven’t had many challenges. My goals for this car are not very much over the top, and Ford spoils us with this great platform that is so simple, yet so rewarding.
AP: Special thanks to anyone?
ZS: Big thank-you to my father for co-signing on a loan with me when the dealer would not finance a 19 year old with practically no credit history. Also Thanks to Guy Nehrenz at Upshift Photography for taking the amazing pictures that you all are enjoying.
AP: Thank you for your time and support of Agency Power!
ZS: Thank you, love supporting the #APARMY!
